Bhikkhu Education & Study Trust (BEST) was established with the mission of empowering Buddhist monks and nuns in their journey toward higher education. In India, many young men and women choose the path of monastic life, yet financial limitations often stand as barriers to advanced learning in Dhamma, Pāli, and Buddhist Philosophy.
At BEST, we believe that educated monks are the true carriers of wisdom, compassion, and peace. By supporting their academic growth through scholarships and essential resources, we strive to nurture a new generation of teachers, leaders, and role models who will spread the timeless teachings of the Buddha and contribute meaningfully to society.

आज भारत में बौद्धों की संख्या लगातार बढ़ रही है। अनेक युवक-युवतियाँ भिक्षु जीवन को अपना रहे हैं। किन्तु एक बड़ी समस्या यह है कि अधिकांश भिक्षु धर्म और पालि भाषा की उच्च शिक्षा से वंचित रह जाते हैं। परिणामस्वरूप वे बुद्ध, धम्म और संघ की गहनता को समझने तथा समाज में उसे प्रभावी ढंग से प्रस्तुत करने में कठिनाई अनुभव करते हैं।
आप भली-भाँति जानते हैं कि धनी घरों के बच्चे शायद ही भिक्षु जीवन अपनाते हैं। मुख्यतः मध्यम और गरीब परिवारों के बच्चे ही अपनी जीवन यात्रा को बुद्ध और धम्म को समर्पित करते हैं। ऐसे में, आर्थिक कठिनाइयों के कारण वे अपनी शिक्षा को आगे नहीं बढ़ा पाते।
आज समय की सबसे बड़ी आवश्यकता है कि भारत में ऐसे भिक्षु तैयार हों जो त्रिपिटक, पालि भाषा और बौद्ध दर्शन में पारंगत हों। यही भिक्षु आगे चलकर बुद्ध के उपदेशों को गहराई से समझेंगे, उनका अनुसरण करेंगे और समाज में करुणा, मैत्री तथा प्रज्ञा का प्रसार करेंगे।
यदि आप अपने बच्चों को बौद्ध शिक्षा नहीं दे पा रहे हैं तो कम-से-कम उन बच्चों की शिक्षा में सहयोग अवश्य करें, जिन्होंने भिक्षु जीवन अपनाकर अपना पूरा जीवन धर्म और समाज की सेवा हेतु समर्पित कर दिया है।
आपका छोटा-सा आर्थिक सहयोग भी इन भिक्षुओं की उच्च शिक्षा, वजीफ़ा और आवश्यकताओं में अमूल्य योगदान बन सकता है। यह सहयोग केवल शिक्षा में ही नहीं, बल्कि समूचे समाज में बुद्ध के उपदेशों के व्यापक प्रचार-प्रसार का आधार बनेगा।

Appeal for Support
Today, the number of Buddhists in India is steadily increasing. Many young men and women are embracing the monastic life. However, one major challenge is that most monks are unable to receive higher education in the Dhamma and the Pāli language. As a result, they often find it difficult to fully understand the depth of the Buddha, Dhamma, and Saṅgha, and to present them effectively in society.
You are well aware that children from wealthy families rarely choose the path of monkhood. It is mostly children from middle-class and poor families who dedicate their lives to the Buddha and the Dhamma. Unfortunately, due to financial difficulties, many of them cannot continue their higher studies.
What India needs most today are monks who are well-versed in the Tipiṭaka, the Pāli language, and Buddhist philosophy. Such monks will not only practice and embody the true teachings of the Buddha but will also spread compassion, wisdom, and loving-kindness throughout society.
If you are unable to provide your own children with Buddhist education, you can still support those children who have already embraced monkhood and dedicated their entire lives to the service of the Dhamma and society.
